Bringing the future of rail to the screen on an international scale
Project Objectives
We worked on a project in collaboration between Camira Fabric’s transport division and Deutsche Bahn, the German rail operator. We worked on creating a film for their joint bi-annual ‘Ideas Train’ concept, which is a futuristic look at what might be possible with train design in the future – which garners a lot of press coverage. We made a film for the 2021 train, which included bespoke artistic bespoke fabric to include within it. We were tasked to create a short interview film featuring Camira staff speaking about the project to share with media outreach and host on the Deutsche Bahn and Camira website.
Our Solution
With a futuristic and creative brief – we wanted the film to equal to that. We used shadows, sounds and imagery that brought the fabric concept to life in an abstract and inspiring way, which told the story of the Deutsche Bahn collaboration. Intended to support Camira’s web, social and press efforts, the film gave a film to be proud of to showcase the collaboration. The film was created during the mist of the Covid-19 pandemic, we decided to use some creative interview setups, recording the ones in Germany via an online laptop housing and the UK-based Camira interviews, in person. The film used shots of the railway, fabrics, design and trains as we looked at the future of rail travel in a concise and creative film.
